After spending lock-down purely by chance back in the UK, I am now finally back in Berlin to enjoy the last few weeks of Summer in the City. Since arriving back I made a conscious decision to slowly ease myself into life back here. One of my favourite activities is cycling around the City, discovering new areas, Cafes and Murals which are plentiful. I’ve always passed by this amazing and currently empty beauty of Brutalist architecture. Designed by Ralf and Ursulina Schüler, the Bierpinsel “Beer Brush” can be found on Schlossstraße in Steglitz, south west Berlin. Construction was completed in 1976 and opened as a restaurant… A sad state to see it now standing empty and unloved…. Would be a dream to paint the facade, which in-fact happened back in 2010 with the Turmkunst project… A dream futuristic home and studio space! The original facade can be seen here taken soon after completion.
